Weekly Blog – Sound of Music Soiree
What a fantastic week! I did some welding on my good friend’s exhaust, fixed a few VWs, and even found time to take extra guitar lessons. The week finished off with a bang, as I had the opportunity to perform my music on Friday afternoon, using some of the guitar tricks I’ve learned.
I played an afternoon set at the Degroote School of Business to kick off the line up release party for Burlington’s Sound Of Music festival. Then me and the boys performed a really high energy set in the evening. My bandmates call themselves Ugly Dog, and for good reason LOL. Thank you to the guys for making me sound great. You rock…country style!
I hope you can pop in again soon, and see what I’ve been up to. We have new videos being added, and more announcements for upcoming shows. This summer promises to be very exciting and I want to share with you what’s going on in my career since you’re the reason I’m doing this! Don’t forget to add me on Twitter and tweet me @BillyJWMusic. I’m there every day, and I love to hear from my fans.
Yeehaw,
Billy J.

See you June 16th!
Happy Mother’s Day!
Hi again, everybody! It’s so nice to be out in the warm spring weather, writing this note.
The birds are really singing up a tune, the Cicadas have chimed in, and the Canada Geese are joining in from afar.
Mom is out here, humming a tune I can’t quite make out, while she weeds the flower bed.
Now this is what I call Country Music! Sitting here on the back deck, taking in the warm sunshine, and the smells, and sounds of a great spring afternoon, just put me at an ease that reminds me of being a little boy. I guess really, anytime I am around Mom, I feel like a little boy again.
Maybe that’s why Mothers Day is in May, to remind us of new beginnings, and being young.
Enjoy the weather everyone, and make sure you take extra time to wish your Mom, a very happy Mothers Day.
Love You Mom.

Goodbye Canadian Music Week, Hello Summer!
Hey everybody!! Hope everyone is having a great start to spring. Things have been getting busy here in Canada as far as music goes. Canadian Music Week 2012 was a blast. I got to see a lot of old friends and meet a ton of new ones, as well as play a really fun showcase at the Orbit Room with Kieran Strange, Carli and Julie Kennedy and the Julian Taylor Band and do an acoustic set for Cashbox Magazine right in the middle of CMW. Thanks to everyone who came out and showed their support for independent Canadian talent!! I am getting very excited for the months ahead and doing more gigging and writing as well as meeting as many fans out there as possible!! Also I would like to thank all the fans who have been purchasing my first EP “Country Drag Strip;’ we have sold over 1000 copies already and counting! We will be posting a few more videos in the coming months for everyone to enjoy and I hope you continue to rock it country style!!
Yeehaww
Billy J
This is how we rock, country style!
“The Orbit Room was Toronto’s Best Kept Secret Wednesday Night (March 21st)”
“Pure disbelief came to mind when Billy J. White opened his mouth to sing. He’s from Burlington, Ontario? More like Nashville, Tennessee! Not a lot of Canadian artists can carry off the southern drawl like White did that evening.
Seeing the line-up for the first time, the artists on the docket seemed to have very little in common and perhaps stylistically that is true. As the night went on however, their close interaction with each other and the audience proved this gathering to be a perfect meld of creativity, artistry and togetherness.”
